Sustainable and e c o – f r i e n d l y living’ refers to a lifestyle that seeks to reduce a person’s or society’s use of the Earth’s natural resources. It involves making conscious decisions that decrease and minimise harm to the environment and promotes the long-term health of our planet. This includes reducing energy and water consumption, saying no to single-use plastic and decreasing the generation of non-recyclable waste. Sustainable living encourages us to meet our present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs, and this ideology should carry on with every generation.

Another key aspect of sustainable living is choosing environmentally friendly alternatives in our daily
routines. Using reusable bags, bottles and containers helps reduce plastic pollution. Opting for public transport, carpooling, cycling or walking, instead of driving personal vehicles, can help
reduce carbon emissions, thus giving us cleaner and greener air. Small but consistent actions – such as
switching off u n u s e d appliances, using water efficiently and reducing food waste – can collectively make a significant impact. Supporting local and organic food sources, reducing meat consumption and planting trees contribute to environmental well-being. These choices reduce our ecological footprint and
promote a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle for ourselves, as well as good practices which future
generations will learn ,and execute responsibly. Sustainable living is not just about e n v i r o n m e n t a l
benefits – it also promotes health, mindfulness and community wellbeing.

It e n c o u r a g e s conscious consumption, responsibility and long-term thinking. While systemic changes are crucial, individual efforts remain powerful and effective — I can and I will When practised widely, even small changes in daily routines can make a good impact. Generative AI (Gen AI) holds
immense potential to drive progress towards sustainable living by providing solutions to a range of environmental challenges. Potential benefits of generative AI for sustainable living include eco-friendly
product design and development, sustainable urban planning, Gen AI models for climate modeling
and prediction, decarbonization efforts, and sustainable agriculture, among others. Adopting a sustainable lifestyle is not option – but a crucial necessity. We must all lead by example, educate others and take consistent steps towards a more sustainable future.
