Chestnut was enjoying a crunchy walnut when Frodo the Frog croaked in alarm.
“Detective! Our lake is foaming like soap. Fish are dying!”

Chestnut hurried over. His magnifying glass flashed as he looked closer. The foam stuck to reeds and smelled… sharp. He dipped a paw—slippery!

He followed the bubbles upstream. First clue: a drain gushing grey water. Second clue: empty detergent packets stuck on rocks. Third clue: plastic bottles floating everywhere.

Lalu the Labrador sniffed. “Soapy chemicals!” Mina the Myna circled above. “And plastic too!”

Chestnut tapped his notebook.
Cause: People washing clothes in drains. Effect: Soap + waste choking the lake.

He gathered the town’s children. “The lake isn’t sick—it’s poisoned. Let’s clean it up and stop the waste at the source!”

Together they put up signs, built a washing spot away from the lake, and placed bins all around. A week later, the foam cleared, lilies bloomed, and Frodo leapt with joy.

“Case cracked,” Chestnut said. “Every drop saved is life saved.”
